Andrea has a profound knowledge of the world of arts and practised most of the technical roles, i.g. sound engineer, light technician, stage-hand , property-man, scene painter and roadie.

During the first years of the 80s, he was a busker, travelling around Europe and playing the guitar _ a folk “Di Giorgio” guitar, 12 cords. In the second half of the 80s, he realized and promoted the C.M.P. project ( a musical coordination center in Pontedera, Pisa) while other similar centers were founded in Rome and Bologna. He was the coordinator of the organized concerts, meetings, seminars with important Italian and foreign artists.
At the same time, he widened his knowledge of one of his artistic interest: the theatre. Together with M. Abbondanza and R. Barsotti he founded a theatrical company, “Immagini” and worked there as an actor and musician. They also went on tour around Italy and Portugal, where Andrea was managing the musical research.

Besides, he has been collaborating with C.S. R.T. (Experimentation and theatrical research center in Pontedera) for four years. He played the role of musician in some plays directed by François Kahn and the role of actor and musician in others: “Vietato Arrampicarsi sugli Alberi” by I. Calvino, directed by R. Bacci (for which he wrote the sound track); “I ragazzi terribili” by J. Cocteau, directed by Silvia and Luisa Pasello; “Il combattimento “ by L. Ariosto and Y. Mishima directed by Billi and Marconcini. All plays have been acclaimed by the public and critics alike.
In 1988 he took up the musical career and founded some well-known blues and rock band in Italy, i.g. the memorable Macbende, blues band and rock. He have been playing more than 1,400 concerts in various jazz and rock clubs, festivals and squares for 13 years. They also recorded up to ten promotional demotapes.

More over, he has been playing (voice and bass-guitar) in the Hotel La Salle project for many years. The name “Hotel La Salle” comes from the accommodation Andrea found in New Orleans during his first travel to the United States. This band toured a lot in Italy and Switzerland, playing in various national festivals , supporters or tour bands of famous American and British artists: Carey Bell, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Animals, Scott Henderson, John Primer, Louisiana Red, Big Jack Johnson, John Hammond, John Mayall.
He was the guest in the CD recording of the Italo-American pianist Blind Rousa and collaborated to the realization of the CD “Unleaded” of the guitarist Nick Becattini.
Composer, singer, real blues bass player sometimes he play for other important blues bands (Bluesharbour, Mamablue, Blues so bad….) than he had received an important recognition, a personal web-page, on the most important Italian blues web-site (www.bluesandblues.it).

In the Autumn/Winter 2000/2001 he travel for the second time in the USA, playing gigs in Louisiana, Minnesota and others states, bass player for a long time for the piano-guitarist-singer Willie Murphy (one of the tree members of the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame with Bob Dylan and Prince) and in a long Italian festivals tour in the summer 2001, spring 2002, Summer 2003.. Now he work also in a very interesting acoustic project with the great fingerpicking guitarist Oscar Bauer (“The Oak, the Cypress…”,cd, blackcat rec.), performing in Italy, Switzerland and Germany.
Lupo has not only been well appreciated as composer and singer but he also is a well knowed blues bass players and nominated between “the 4 best Italian blues bass player 2002” in the referendum of the Italian Blues web-Association www.bluesandblues.it/ibbavoti.html

Il a travaillée comme ingénieur du son et de lumière, machiniste théâtral, accessoiriste, scénographique et roadie. En 1980 il était un artiste routier(busker) et il voyageait beaucoup à travers l ‘Europe en jouant une guitare folk Di Giorgio folk à 12 cordes. Pendant la deuxième moitié des années 80, il a été l’auteur et un des promoteurs du C.M.P. (Centre de Coordination Musicale de Pontedera, Pisa) au même temps que des centres semblables naissaient à Rome et à Bologne. Ici il a eu le rôle de coordinateur des musiciens et il a organisé des concerts, des entrevues, des séminaires avec des artistes italiens et étrangers |

Parallèlement, à partir de la deuxième moitié des années 80 il a approfondi un autre intérêt artistique: le théâtre. Il a crée, avec M. Abbondanza et R. Barsotti le groupe théâtrale "Immagini" où il a travaillé longtemps soit comme acteur que comme musicien en faisant des tournées en Italie et en Portugal où il a conduit la recherche musicale.
Pendant quatre ans, il a collaboré aussi avec le C.S.R.T. (Centre d’expérimentation et de recherche théâtrale de Pontedera, Pisa), comme musicien dans des spectacles du metteur en scène Francois Kahn et comme acteur et musicien dans d’autres. Il a reçu une vaste approbation de la critique et du public au niveau national, surtout avec les représentations de «Vietato arrampicarsi sugli alberi» de I. Calvino: metteur en scène R.Bacci, pour laquelle il a écrit aussi la bande sonore ; «I ragazzi terribili» de J. Cocteau : Metteurs en scène: Silvia et luisa Pasello ; «Il combattimento» de L.Ariosto et Y.Mishima : metteurs en scène: Billi e Marconcini…). En 1988, il a embrassé definitivement la carrière du musicien et il a réalisé des groupes très appréciés dans les milieux blues et rock italiens (par exemple le group historique « MacBende », blues band & rock).
Pendant quinze années d’activité il a fait plus que 1400 concerts dans les jazz-clubs, les boites, les rock clubs, les Festivals et il a enregistré avec beaucoup des artistes blues nationales. Depuis plusieurs années, il fait partie du projet «Hôtel La Salle» (electric blues trio) le nom duquel dérive de l’hôtel de New Orleans où Andrea a logé pendant son premier voyage aux Etats-Unis (’90). Comme bassiste et voix soliste de ce groupe, il a joué en Italie et en Suisse, Allemagne dans des nombreux festivals faisant le supporter ou la tour band de beaucoup de musiciens américains et anglais: Carey Bell, Clarence « Gatemouth » Brown, Animals, Scott Henderson, John Primer, Lousiana Red, Big Jack Johnson, Scott Henderson, John Mayall...Il a participé à la registration du CD du pianiste italo-américain Blind Rousa et au dernier CD du grande guitariste Nick Becattini et recentement du duo bluegrass italo-americain Guardi/ Montuori.
Il est apprécié soit comme chanteur que comme compositeur et il est reconnu comme un véritable bassiste blues. Il joue occasionnellement avec des autres groupes blues italiens ( Blues Harbour, Blues So Bad, Blues Machine, En plus il a fait partie du «meilleur groupe blues en Toscane 2000», les Mamablue etc..).
En outre il a participé à la programmation artistique de plusieurs boites et des organismes d’intérêt public et televisiones et radio nationales.
Dans l’ hiver (2000-01) il a été encore aux Etats Unis où il a joué en Lousiana, en Minnesota, Iowa etc. A Minneapolis il a été le bassiste du pianiste, chanteur guitariste Willie Murphy (un des trois membres honoraires du « Minnesota Music Hall of Fame » avec Bob Dylan et Prince). Il avait déjà joué avec Willie plusieurs fois en Italie et officielment dans l’etè 2001-’02-‘03 pour le « Willie Murphy summer tour « dans beaucoup prestigeux festivales internationaux italiens.
Il a etè declarè entre les 4 meilleurs bassistes italiens (2002) dans le referendum du web-site bluesandblues.it
Lupo joue exclusivement les basses électrique FENDER Vintage et basse acoustique EPIPHONE vec amplificateurs AMPEG pour l'electrique et SCHERTLER pour l'acoustique.
